Our retreat on Big Horsehead Lake, is a perfect getaway every season of the year.

Located in beautiful Presque Isle, Wisconsin, we are just a few minutes from Boulder Junction and Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Enjoy watersports, fishing, swimming, and boating on our crystal-clear, 240-acre lake.  The lake features a new boat launch for your convenience, or you way choose to rent our pontoon boat during your stay. Trails for walking, hiking, and biking can also be found nearby.

This cabin is a sportsman's paradise! Musky, Walleye, and Yellow Perch are the dominant population among the fish and the deer are plentiful in the area. Both fishing and hunting are excellent!

Horsehead Lake Retreat is located in the "snow belt", receiving an average of 200 inches of snow per year.  Opportunities for winter sports abound, with beautifully groomed snowmobile trails leading right up to our driveway, which extend across all of northern Wisconsin and the UP.  The cities of St. Germain, Minocqua, Boulder Junction, Mercer, Hurley, and Manitowish Waters are all part of the trail system, and be sure to head over to Eagle River for the Snowmobile Derby.  If you prefer to explore the Michigan side of the border, Lake Gogebic, the Porcupine Mountains, and Lake of the Clouds are all just a day's ride away.

Like to ski?  If so, you'll find miles of cross-country ski trails in the area.  Downhill ski runs are only a 45-minute drive into the UP, at hills such as Whitecap, Indianhead, Powderhorn, Blackjack, or - if you're willing to drive a little bit farther - the awesome Porcupine Mountain.
